ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION

Article 1

The Islands Of Croatia Activators Group (hereinafter called IOCAGroup) is a group of hams with joint interests, goals and aims.

Article 2

The full, unabridged name of this ham radio association is Klub aktivatora hrvatskih otoka (Croatian) and/or The Islands of Croatia Activators Group (English). The abridged name is IOCAGroup.

The Group is registered in Zagreb. IOCAGroup is active in the territory of Republic of Croatia.

Article 3

Whereas protecting the reputation of Republic of Croatia and Croatian Amateur Radio Association - HRS, the main goals of IOCAGroup are:
a) safeguarding and promotion of IOCA Program (The Islands Of Croatia Award) among the Croatian and foreign hams;
b) popularization of ham activities from Croatian islands;
c) encouragement of Croatian and foreign hams to visit Croatian islands;
d) promotion of Croatia as islands-rich, maritime country;
e) development of ecology awareness and a need to protect the environment on Croatian islands;
f) teaching Group members how to operate from Croatian islands and actively participate in charity events, environmental and emergency events and situations;
g) promotion of Croatian tourism.

Article 4

Members of the Group will work individually and jointly in achieving the following aims and goals:
a) to organize dxpeditions to Croatian islands;
b) to promote the IOCAGroup;
c) to find sponsors for the Group events;
d) to purchase equipment and the gear necessary for IOCAGroup events;
e) to print QSL cards for the Group events;
f) to promote ham spirit among hams worldwide, safeguarding the ham way of life and its values.

Article 5

IOCAGroup is represented by the Manager and run by the Board of IOCAGroup. The Board has 3 (three) members, elected for the term of 4 (four) years. The Board may nominate its members responsible for specific areas of interest.

Article 6

IOCAGroup is not a legal entity.

The Group is a non-profit interest group of hams, whose activities are governed by the Statute of Croatian Amateur Radio Association - HRS and these Articles of Association.

If the Board of IOCAGroup decides that it would be necessary to register the Group as a legal entity, then the IOCAGroup will be registered as a member radio club within the Croatian Amateur Radio Association - HRS.

Article 7

Any licenced ham or a short-wave listener (SWL) can become a member of IOCAGroup, provided that he/she has confirmed contacts with at least 10 different Croatian islands (as islands' chaser), or that he/she has activated at least 5 different Croatian islands (as islands' activator) since 26/06/1991.

Membership fee for Croatian hams is 35 Kuna and foreign hams US$5 (or EUR5).

IOCAGroup
Honorary membership is available on exceptional basis to those hams, who are eligible pursuant to the previous paragraph of this Article, with at least three nominations from regular members, and provided the Board decides in his/her favor unanimously.

Article 8

The Manager of IOCAGroup will promptly notify Group members of all planned ham activities from Croatian islands, either via e-mail or otherwise.

The Board will keep the Group members, and all other interested hams, informed of the Group and Board activities on regular basis through the following media:

a) web pages: http://www.hamradio.hr and http://www.inet.hr/9a6aa
b) publications and announcements in the ham magazine Radio HRS

Article 9

The Group member commits to inform the Manager of all planned activities from Croatian islands, in order to provide expedient and timely information to all other members of the Group.

Article 10

Any member of IOCAGroup, failing to comply with regulations set forth in these Articles of Association, can be voted out and expelled from the Group. This will be decided by the Board of IOCAGroup, and such decision will be final.

Article 11

Group members hold annual meetings once a year as a minimum, participating in discussions on previous activities, and setting plans and activity schedule for the next period. The Board and the presidency are subject to regular elections each four years by public vote. The officials of the Group can be re-elected for new term(s) of office. Meetings are called by the Manager of IOCAGroup.

Article 12

The Group activity is public and based on democratic principles.

Article 13

The Group has its logo, made of the word design "IOCA" and the word "Group" beneath. Both the logo and the abidged name of the Group are trademarks, duly protected.
Each Group member has the right to use the name and logo IOCAGroup in the spirit of these regulations.

Article 15

These Articles of Association are in effect from the date of incorporation.
