Pete Cacmac, 04.V.2001., public review at Trax in Space : Rating: 8/10 It seems like today's trend is to put effort on sound quality, which obviously is a good thing, but with quality you're not able to create a track that is melodically, as a musical piece, awesome. I'm not saying that this song is musically of low quality, I've just noticed this kinda trend in general... As you can guess, this song has samples that are of very high quality. Melodies of the song are rather simple, as well as chording. Transitions work, except that one around 4 minutes, which is a little complexed. Arrangement and effects of this track are of high quality, instruments are in great balance. Panning, actual tracking and such things are great as well. You can notice that we are talking about a talented and experienced tracker. My suggestion is to concentrate a little more on chording and progression. When they are of so called perfect quality, melodies and the rest will turn to music almost by themselves. =) This is an enjoyable track and worth of checking out, not quite perfect, but still, a pearl among trance music available at TiS. - Pete (8 - Excellent, something you'd listen to again) Unknown Source, 04.V.2001., public review at Trax in Space : Rating: 6/10 I really like the intro... indeed! But I think the tune itself is far to slow... And the snare doesnt fit in my opinion... I do like our usage of melodies, nice combining, and nice with a tune with several melodies instead of one or to, thats one of my problems... The sfx' in the tune is very well liked from here to, but... Overall, I think it gets repetative, not so much key progression... DATABASS, 29.V.2001., public review at Trax in Space : Rating: 10/10 This is an absolute gem of a track, the first 15 seconds of it left me wondering just what to expect due to the choice of drum tones, it doesn't take long for this track to totally captivate your eardrums, the melodic keyboard riffs used in this track are superb and it has a lot of depth to it, in ways this reminds me of some of the early works of Jam & Spoon, this track is superb and is definitely the kind of track I would expect to see getting signed up by a label Coplan, Static Line magazine (an e-mag for the scene), Issue #33, May 2001. : The top ranked song from Trax-in-Space is sort of a trancy tune that reminds me of some early 90's video game music. Trust me, that is not a cut on the quality of the song. Some of my favorite music is game music (Legend of Zelda's music, Metroid, and so on). I recently got a new subwoofer, so I can fully appreciate this song. If you aren't fortunate enough to have one though, it probably won't bother you to hear it without a subwoofer, as T-Tracker has done a wonderful mixing job. The tune is very complex, and of a quality that I could not duplicate. The base riff alone could be raised a few octaves and passed off as a lead, as it has incredible depth to its performance. I find the percussion quite interesting as well. Aside from the standard drum kit, there are a few other percussive instruments in there that definately add to the song. I would say that this is one of those songs that you should grab if you happen to like trance or dance. It wouldn't be the greatest song I ever download, but it is very entertaining, and fun to listen to. I don't know how he does the trick each time....but his stereo and panning is tuned so fine that all of this guy's tracks sound very deep. Great job t-tracker! Great bassline and very nice work on the chords and the melodies again! Nice job on the part that kicks in at 0:37, that's where the soul of this track comes in and flows through until the end.
