Croatian sheet

The term “Croatian sheet” is connected with the occurrence of the first charity stamps of the Republic of Croatia – stamps 1-12. The stamps stated have been printed in perforated and imperforated sheets on 30 fields with 25 stamps and five attachments.

The third field in the third row is the attachment with the Croatian coat of arms, and the fourth and the fifth field in the fifth and the sixth row are the attachments with the magnified motive of the stamp. Because of it’s originality it was soon named “Croatian sheet”.

Soon after the occurrence of charity stamps the first regular stamps issued in the form of “Croatian sheet” occurred. Those were charity stamps number 4 and 8 from 1991. They were given a new purpose by overprinting. The first real (both definitive or commemorative) stamps issued in the form of “Croatian sheet” emerged in 1995.
