Custom formalities
For entering Croatia
foreign visitors should have a valid passport or any other personal
identification document recognized by a bilateral agreement.
For
animals is required a yellow international medical passport and a valid
vaccination certificate.
On the road
On the Istrian roads are
in force the European Union's traffic regulations. The speed limits are:
50 km/h in town,
80 km/h outside town and 130 km/h on motorways. It's not permitted to drink alchol when driving.
The parking lots should be
clearly signed. If not, You should ask the local population if it's possible to
park on the spot in question.
Money
The official currency is
the Croatian kuna
(HRK).
There are banknotes of
5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500
and 1000 kunas, coins of 1, 2, 5
and 25 kunas. There are also 1, 2, 5,
10, 20 e 50 lipas (cents). 1 kn = 100 lipas.
Money can be changed in
post and exchange offices, banks, tourist agencies and on some petrol stations.
