the flora and fauna of Ucka

hangliding and paragliding around Ucka slopes. For more information and

The
Kvarner region and Istria as a whole is rich with monuments left by Romans
(e.g. Rijeka, Pula ).
Most of the hillside towns around Kvarner and Istria
were built during the Venetian era and invite you to see the old wall
paintings in their churches (e.g. Lovran, Beram).
Opatija and Lovran both boast a 160 year old tourism
industry and tradition, and many hotels and villas were built in the beginning
of 20 th century in the so called Jugendstill style (Art Deco).

Gastronomy
The Kvarner cuisine is a mixture of Italian and Central
European influences, which can be tasted in numerous restaurants in the
Riviera or in local inns and farmhouses around the Istrian peninsula.
Kvarner's most famous specialities are the Scampi
and sparuga dishes in spring or chestnut cakes in autumn.
You can try the chestnuts for yourself in October, if you
stay with us during the Marunada
festival.
