Silvio Mirosnicenko (1972) was born in Bad Schussenreid (Germany) and studied social work in Zagreb. He holds a degree in film & TV editing and also in dramaturgy from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. Mirosnicenko has directed many documentary films dealing with burning social issues, either for independent production companies or for Croatia’s national broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT).

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Bad Schussenried (Baden-Württemberg) in Germany. After finishing primary and secondary school in Osijek, Croatia Silvio moved to Zagreb to study Social Work. In 1997 he enrolled at the Dramatology Department at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb.
Silvio has directed some documentary films on social issues and collaborated in several documentary projects as co-scriptwriter and two feature fiction projects as screenwriter.

He won a Special Award on the 31. Croatian Film and Video Festival of Films Club's Association for his documentary BONNIE I CLYDE ON THE RAILWAY STATION.

His next documentary DREAMS OF CHILDHOOD ON THE RAILWAY STATION is the only Croatian representative in Non-Fiction category of 2002 year Prix Europa in Berlin comes from FACTUM. It is also the fifth year in a row that Factum film is participating at the most important television festival in Europe. Film describes the life of the children who live, sleep and "work" at Zagreb's main railway station.

As dramatist he worked on some documentaries and features directed by Branko Istvancic.
