Silvio Mirosnicenko (1972) was born in Bad Schussenreid (Germany) and studied social work in Zagreb. He holds a degree in film & TV editing and also in dramaturgy from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. Mirosnicenko has directed many documentary films dealing with burning social issues, either for independent production companies or for Croatia’s national broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT).

Film 'Na putu straha' (Travelling On The Path Of Fear) in Amsterdam

The film 'Na putu straha' (Travelling On The Path Of Fear) by filmmaker and scriptwriter Silvio Mirosnicenko has been selected in the official programme of the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) in Amsterdam.

IDFA will take place between 23rd November and 3rd December.
Mirosnicenko's film will be screened on 25th November, 3 p.m. in the Vondelpark, on 26th November at 6.15 p.m. in the City and then on 1st December at 10.15 p.m. in the City).

The project was selected for granting at the beginning of this year at the Jan Vrijman Fund contest and it was premiered this year at the 15th Days of Croatian Films which took place in April in Zagreb.

'Travelling On The Path Of Fear' is a story about railway accident which has completely changed the life of an older man and his five children, because they lost the wife and mother in the accident.

"Barge Keeper" at Cinema du Reel Festival

"Barge Keeper", one of the documentaries produced within the framework of the Factum documentary film project, will be screened in the official selection of the Cinema du Reel festival which will take place at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris from 5th to 14th March 2004.

Only 15 international films compete in festival's main selection and Barge Keeper is one of them. The movie is a portrayal of a man who takes care of the barges on the river Drava in the Eastern part of Croatia. Cinema du Reel is a festival of etnographic and sociological films, one of the most important of that kind, and it was founded in 1979. DREAMS FROM THE RAILWAY STATION screened at PRIX EUROPA The only Croatian representative in Non-Fiction category of this year's Prix Europa in Berlin comes from FACTUM.
