NGC 2903 is a barred spiral galaxy about 20.5 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. It is another beautiful and more conspicuous Northern objects which Charles Messier missed when compiling his catalog.
Galaxy was discovered by William Herschel who cataloged it on November 16, 1784.

NGC 2905 i bright star cloud in on of the spiral arms.

Galaxy is very conspicuous in 8" telescope. Elliptical shape is easily visible with one bright bar running along longer axis.
