About program ...
 

  ACAD to WESNET Converter is a program that works under the AutoCAD 2000 - 2006 graphic environment and enables the transfer of water supply system geometry from the graphic environment of the AutoCAD program into the WESNET program database. Data transfer is based on generating Wesnet .DEM and .GMT databases which, in addition to the system geometry, can by means of this program be also filled with all other data that these two databases contain.

  The program is meant for users that graphically process water supply systems in AutoCAD graphic environment and thereafter carry out mathematical modelling with Wesnet program package on the basis of those data.

 How the program operates ... 

  With a little help of the user, the program draws from the Auto CAD drawing most of the data necessary for further operation in Wesnet mathematical model. This sets certain standards before the user during the making and organizing of the drawing.

AutoCAD drawing should be organized in such a way that all the pipes of the same production material are drawn in the same layer whereas the pipes of the same DN are drawn in the same colour. The next condition that must be fulfilled is that all the pipes are drawn by polylines. We thereby get two data, explicitely defined by AutoCAD’s atributes as well as system geometry with node points.

We can get the areas organized according to consumer category and zone by surrounding pipes of categories and zones with polylines sorted by layers.

  Data input ... 

  Data input for .DEM and .GMT databases is very simple and is carried out with help of several dialogue widows. After the input of all necessary data, databases are generated containing data on system geometry, consumer category, pipe DNs, materials, consumption norm, node losses, lengths, material roughness and specific norm.

Destination database and consumer category list with the data on consumption norm, node losses and layer, containing category area boundaries, are defined in the .DEM dialogue window .

 

 

Destination database, first node number, text height, text quadrant, list of pipe DNs with related colours, list of materials with pipe roughness and defining layer, list of zones with defining layer and list of years with defining layer are defined in the .GMT dialogue window.
