    Hi, my name is Tonči Gavranić (pronounced like black birds, except with a 'ić' in the ending). I am 43 years old, happily married with four children. I live in Blato, a small beautiful town in island Korčula-Croatia.

    I startup in mechanical engineering since 1985. in technology department and design technology system to three parts stern ramp. After two years, 1987 to 1990, I am a chief of Construction department and design safety system of rescue boat and proviant crane. In time 1990-1993, I was Mayer of Korčula council. In time 1993-1994, I was a technical manager of Radez ( 450 employers ) and we are starting with computer involved in design and manufacturing. From 1994-1997, I was general manager and Radez implemented a CAD-CAM system. From 1997, I back to project department and design a ship-cranes and ramps.

    At home, I worked to produced calculation and drafting systems for mechanical engineering in heating, ventilation and processing disciplines.

    I have been involved with computer aided design and drafting since 1997. The Radez Corporation hired me in 1997 as a project leader in Project department . I was involved in the construction, maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment system. In late 1986 I was facing the possibility of being laid off due to cutbacks in the workforce in the area I worked in. At the same time, the Radez was interviewing people for positions as equipment systems designers. I was accepted and began designing equipment systems on a manual drafting board. Since I had just previously worked in a university services type heavy and duty job, my hands were not accustomed to doing the fine detail work that manual drafting required. At best my drafting was acceptable but it left something to be desired. In early 1989, the office made a minor investment in an Apple computer system. Unlike most of the designers that had been doing design-using manual drafting techniques for years and viewed the CAD system as an unwanted burden, I took to the CAD system like a duck to water. I became very proficient using this technology to assist myself with my design work. I rapidly learned how to use CAD to reduce the time that it took to complete projects and how it could be a major asset in improving the aesthetic appearance of my work.

    In 1999, when personal computers were starting to become popular, I purchased an Pentium III home computer with 20 Gigabytes of ram and began to learn how to harness this power. I developed the ability to program this machine to do tasks such as home accounting and word processing.

    Me and sub-contracted work from the design CAD services that we was working for many company which asked design documents and we continue our relationship on a long distance basis. This would allow us to locate in Blato, Korčula, Zagreb and other location. Since we were already equipped to do work at a remote location the only change would be that I was no longer the on site manager for his company.

    Thus began my small CAD services originally called GAVRANing, later renamed to GAVRANing Cad Services.
